Inadvertent Invention
In 1853, a diner at Moon's Lake House in Saratoga Springs, New York, sent his "too thick" fried potatoes back to the kitchen twice. The angry chef then fried paper-thin potato slices - wich delighted the diner. The potatoes became a house specialty; today, they're called potato chips.

Feathered Friends
Fill Bird Feeders to attract chickadees, nuthatches, and tufted titmice. Not only are these birds fun to watch, but also they clean up insect larvae and eggs on trees and shrubs.
